Brief History
The tower was named after the architect Gustave Eiffel who built the tower in 1889 on the occasion of 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. It took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to complete the whole structure which was a veritable technical and architectural achievement.The Eiffel was supposed to last for 20 years and fortunately, thanks to the scientific experiments, the tower functioned as radio transmissions, military radio post then public radio in 1925.
Since 1980s, this monument has been renovated, repainted, restored for public visits.
So far, Eiffel tower is not only the key attraction for all Paris City Tours, hundreds of cultural performances including football festival, new year and independence day celebration are held at the foot of Eiffel.

From the bottom to top, the iron tower is 324m height, equipped by 20,000 bubbs, 336 lamps. Its peak carries 120 antennas.There are 3 floors in Eiffel. To reach the first floor, it is 57m climb while the second floor is at 115m. The top floor is reachable by a lift and it is at 276m.
Visiting Guide
Opening TimeFrom 9 a.m. to midnight from mid-June to early September,
From 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the rest of the year,
At Easter weekend and during the Spring holidays : extended opening hours to midnight.
Entrance Fee
The rate differs from age to age and if you are in a big group, the price is cheaper. The stair entrance ticket starts from 3euro for children from 4 to 14, 5euro for people from 14 to 24 and 7euro for adults.
Lift entrance ticket costs 4euro for the childen, 8,5euro for young people and students, 11euro for adults.
